Air treatment - fine filters, sub-microfilters & activated carbon filters

As a rule, compressed air is cleaned using a combination of different filters (from coarse to fine). In this way, the service life of the individual filters increases noticeably. The first filter stage is usually a cyclone separator or pre-filter, which is used to remove coarse dirt and water droplets. This is followed by a microfilter or submicrofilter, which also filters out oil and water aerosols. In order to remove oil vapors from the compressed air for special applications, an activated carbon filter can be installed downstream of the submicrofilter. Which filter combination is used where depends on the requirements of the application.
