Garden hose quick couplings, 40 mm claw width

Garden hose couplings (often also called “GEKA couplings”) made of brass or stainless steel are used to couple water hoses quickly and inexpensively. These are symmetrical, non-locking couplings with a 40 mm claw spacing (attention: risk of confusion with the compressor clutch with a 42 mm claw spacing!), which are coupled by twisting the claws towards each other. There is no distinction between plug and socket. Since the coupling does not have any shut-off function, it must be ensured that the line is depressurized before uncoupling. The risk of uncoupling under pressure is reduced by a safety coupling: when uncoupling, the seal is first turned back (pressure relief), then the claws are twisted against each other.
