Rotary unions & rotary screw connections

Rotary screw connections are used when media is to be conveyed using rotating or pivoting movements. In contrast to positionable screw connections, the swivel fittings are designed for permanent pivoting or rotating movements for a specific pressure range and a specific medium. Maximum pressure at maximum rotation speed reduces service life. Some rotary unions require lubrication through the medium (e.g. hydraulic screw connections). Rotatable connections can noticeably improve the service life of a hose system as they reduce torsional stress on the hose. The use of a swivel joint in pipelines should be avoided as misalignment inaccuracies cannot be compensated for.
