Brass compression fittings, DIN EN 1254-2 (4-22 mm)
Brass compression fittings according to DIN 1254-2 are mostly used for use with copper pipes or polyamide pipes. They are not compatible with the cutting ring screw connections that are widespread in Germany (also known colloquially as “Ermeto screw connections”). The obvious difference to cutting ring fittings is the symmetrical brass clamping ring with double cone used here, which is simply clamped onto the pipe instead of cutting into the pipe. When assembling PA pipe or thin-walled copper pipe, a reinforcing sleeve must be used to ensure secure clamping. In Germany, a cutting ring screw connection according to DIN EN ISO 8434-1 is often used instead of the compression ring screw connection.
